Our colleague Jim O’Malley, who leads the executive search practice for Felix, will review critical to-do’s, tips and demands that candidates should apply when conducting a job search. Some of these include a structured and sustained use of networking, direct outreach and connecting with the right executive recruitment firm.

Jim O’Malley’s Bio:

Jim develops solutions to ensure that leadership talent aligns with changing business needs. Jim has served companies across multiple industries including Private Equity (and their portfolio clients across all industries), Management Consulting firms, Architecture, Engineering, Accounting, Tax Advisory and Law firms in addition to IT, Healthcare, Operations and Supply Chain consultancies. He also helps large Capital Market, Commercial, Consumer and Private Banks with their hiring needs.

Previously, Jim started and led two boutique executive search firms. Additionally, he held the position of Senior Vice President in the Human Resource function of Fifth Third Bancorp where he built the infrastructure to support the organization’s strategic workforce planning needs while attracting, retaining, and recruiting their executive workforce. He also served as Managing Director and leader of the talent acquisition function for Huron Consulting Group, a global professional services firm. Jim was the Vice President of Human Resources with Edward Don and Company, the nation’s largest food service supply and equipment distributor and held various leadership roles with Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and internet consultancy, Lante.

Jim serves on the board of directors for HFS Chicago Scholars, a non-profit providing economically disadvantaged youth access to a private high school experience. He is also an active member of the Society of Human Resources Professionals, the Executives’ Club of Chicago and the Metropolitan Club of Chicago. A graduate of DePaul University, Jim was awarded the Staffing Management Association of Greater Chicago “Staffing Professional of the Year” award in 2008.
