Bob is a business leader and executive advisor at Shields Meneley Partners, a unique and specialized consulting firm helping the most senior executives with career transitions, their post-corporate lives and in-position leadership development.
Throughout Bob’s career in business, including roles at P&G, Bombardier, and Griffith Foods, he has been known as “Coach.” As trusted advisor for all levels of the organizations, he helps develop leaders and future leaders, his passion for more than 30 years. Since 2014, Bob has been doing this work full-time. He brings a unique perspective to the table with an education in engineering and several decades of experience as a human resource leader.
Born on Montreal, he attended college at McGill and Carleton Universities. Bob brings a global viewpoint having held positions in four different countries and responsibilities in the Americas, Eastern and Western Europe and Asia.
He recently served on his first corporate board, Madison-Kipp Corp., until the sale of the firm. He is a managing director of The Sierra Institute, an “invitation-only” group of senior CHROs whose mission is the advancement of their organizations, the HR community and each other.
Bob is an ICF-certified coach, graduating from the Hudson Institute of Coaching in Santa Barbara, California. He has held numerous not-for-profit board positions in the arts, economic development, human resources and the British American Business Council, the Union League Club of Chicago and the 786 Club, a group of civilians and former Navy veterans supporting the crew of the attack submarine, USS Illinois. Bob is a member of the Executive Club of Chicago and the Human Resource Management Association of Chicago. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Viki, a well-being coach. Bob has two daughters both with careers in Human Resources.
