Tom specializes in leadership assessment, succession, development, and coaching for executives and senior teams. Tom has worked with clients at every level of the leadership pipeline, in some of the largest organizations in the world, in just about every industry, on five continents. He also has general management experience, having led local and regional business units of up to 100 professional services employees, including degreed professionals.
Tom is President of TWMason, an executive talent management consulting firm he founded in 2012. Prior to founding TWMason, Tom worked nearly 18 years with PDI Ninth House, a global leadership consulting firm, serving in a variety of consulting and business leadership roles, including vice president, general manager and region leader. Before joining PDI Ninth House, Tom accrued 16 years of business experience, including 10 additional years as a consultant to private, public, and government organizations.
Tom has held visiting or adjunct faculty appointments in business, statistics, and psychology at the University of Tennessee, Rice University, the University of Houston, and Elmhurst College. His doctoral dissertation on managerial selection won the annual International Personnel Management Association Assessment Council student paper award.
Tom is licensed as a psychologist by the state of Tennessee. He received his Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology with a minor in statistics from the University of Tennessee. He graduated from Elmhurst University (Illinois) with a B.S. in biology and psychology.
