Gord Wilson joined Felix Global Corp. in 2008 with the mandate to establish Felix as a brand name in retained search, and to reinforce Felix's overall mission to help clients develop high performance cultures.
Gord's senior search experience spans 30 + years, during which time he has managed the Financial Services Search Practise of two global search firms and has partnered with entrepreneurs, C-level executives and Board Directors on search, organizational and governance matters.
In 1993, at the peak of the international corporate governance debate, Gord, backed by substantial financial support from a variety of professional service firms, started the Center for Director and Board Development. The mission of the CDBD was to design and deliver learning-centred workshops for corporate directors to enhance the quality of decision making in the board room. Gord served as Chairman of the CDBD for three years.
Gord's primary competency is in conducting senior search in the financial services sector for pension plan managers, investment counselors, money managers, wealth managers, venture and private equity investors, fund companies, investment dealers and brokers , insurance and trust companies and a variety of financial industry, trade and professional associations.
Gord has extensive experience recruiting Board Directors for many Canadian public and private corporations, C-level and Leadership Executives, Heads of Business and Function, and strategic staff positions critical to the success of an organization.
Over the years, Gord has experienced a number of significant business cycles, a variety of business startups and an opportunity to work with companies going through various states of rapid growth, change and crisis. From these experiences, Gord has gained valuable insights into organizational dynamics and the factors that make them successful. And through these experiences, Gord has honed his natural ability to partner effectively with the client, to apply his successful formula for matching winning strategies with superior talent in support of building sustainable enterprise value.
Gord is active in golf, fitness and charitable services and sits on the Fund Development Committee of the Community Foundation of Oakville.
